Georgia State University (GSU) is a public research university based in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in 1913 and is the largest university in the state by both student population and number of degrees awarded annually. Grading and GPA System

Georgia State University operates on a four-point grading system, with letter grades assigned to each course: A (4.0), B (3.0), C (2.0), D (1.0), and F (0.0). In addition, the university offers plus (+) and minus (-) grades, which add or subtract 0.3 from the numerical value of the letter grade.

GSU calculates grade point average (GPA) based on the numerical value assigned to each letter grade. To calculate GPA, the university adds up the total of all grade points earned and divides the sum by the total number of credit hours attempted. A GPA of 2.0 or higher is considered satisfactory academic progress.
