About Spelman College

Spelman College is a private, liberal arts women's college located in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in 1881 by Sophia B. Packard and Harriet E. Giles, and is named after John D. Rockefeller's wife, Laura Spelman Rockefeller. The college has a rich history in educating African American women and empowering them to become leaders in various fields.

Grading and GPA System

Spelman College uses a standard grading system with grades ranging from A to F. Additionally, the college has a plus and minus system, where students may receive grades such as an A-, B+, or C-. The grading scale is as follows:
