The point value is multiplied by the number of credit hours for the course to determine the quality points earned. The total quality points earned are divided by the total number of credit hours attempted to determine the GPA. Some additional facts about grading and the GPA system include: • A grade of “I” (Incomplete) may be assigned when a student has not completed all of the coursework in a course. The incomplete must be made up by a deadline determined by the instructor. • A grade of “W” (Withdrawal) is assigned when a student drops a course by the published deadline. • A grade of “P” (Pass) or “NP” (No Pass) may be assigned for certain courses that are taken on a pass/fail basis.
